Fucky, Fucky, Bang, Bang

Today is Bonfire Night in the UK, when we traditionally celebrates the thwarting of “The Gundpowder Plot” on the 5th November 1605, where a number of Catholic conspirators I believe 13, including Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London.

We celebrate it every year by having bonfires and lots of fireworks. You can catch up on the history behind the celebrations here.

All week but particularly tonight people have been continually setting fireworks off in their gardens. This results in my cat becoming very nervous and we have to leave the television or the radio on quite loud to help mask the noise.

Now I bet you are all wondering what this is leading to. Well, whilst the noise in the street resembles that in a warzone it also creates a wonderful camouflage for our bedroom frolicks. We live in a semi detached house and I normally have to stifle my appreciation…not tonight, I will be able to scream and moan to my hearts content.

How wonderful it will be to just let rip and not worry about the neighbours being able to hear me. 😉

Now where is Alex!
