New Jersey Bikini Babes Celebrating

A quick snippet of news for you all. Despite a recent attempt to ban Bikini waxes in the State of New Jersey all is now well in the beauty parlours of the state.

The original proposal to ban waxing of the most tender of regions was originally intended to avoid problems similar to ones involving two customers who suffered infections after undergoing waxing. The question I have to ask is “Two problems, out of how many waxes performed in the state of NJ in the last 12 months, isn’t that an over-reaction?”

Seems like someone wanted to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Bikini waxing is hardly an invasive procedure and if there is a problem with one or two salons not having good hygiene and/or trained staff then address that with training and inspection.

It’s like trying to ban sex because people get pregnant. That’s what contraception’s for.

Residents of NJ have David Szuchman, New Jersey’s consumer affairs director to thanks for this moment of common sense. He’s quoted as saying

“Many commenters have noted that the procedure can be safely performed. I, therefore, believe that there are alternate means to address any public health issues identified [related to Bikini waxing]”
