Porn King, RIP

Paul Raymond, Britain’s answer to Hugh Hefner died yesterday aged 82.

I thought it worth a mention as he is synonymous in the UK with strip clubs and girly magazines. He managed to be a “porn king” with a less sleazy demeanour than many of those who attempted to emulate him. Maybe that was because he was the first, or maybe it’s just his legendary status that illuminates him in a glowing light. Either way there’s a metal pole with a nubile angel waiting for him somewhere.

Whether she has wings or horns is I suppose a matter for his maker to decide. Personally I’d opt for the one with horns. If you want my opinion, to paraphrase Milton “Better to reign in Soho than to serve in Westminster”.
