In the UK it’s not uncommon for the Advertising Standards Authority to ban an ad or ask for it to be amended because of legal, taste or decency issues. Sometimes this is justified, other times they show themselves to be inconsistent at applying the rules, especially when they bow to pressure from prudish minority groups.
It would seem they have no problem with this ad for a brand of jelly sweets.
Is it just me and Suze? When we saw it at a service area on the M1 we both looked at each other and said “Jelly dong!”
Question is, when will the ASA notice.
