About "Belong"

This section of AlexSuze.com is where you are able to get a little closer to us.

To begin with you can add an avatar to be displayed when you're commenting. We got fed up of Gravatar failing to load and slowing our site down. So now you can upload an image (80x80 pixels max JPEG, GIF or PNG), yes that's right, we host it for you.

In 2007 we aim to bring you more features. So join up now (you only need an email address, not even a blog) and keep watching this space.

Privacy Policy

The information you submit to the "Belong" section of AlexSuze.com is kept in the strictest confidence. We will not pass this information on to third parties.

Joining “Belong”

All you need is an email address and a password. Type your Email address into the “Not a member? Sign up here.” Section of the front screen and click the sign-up button.

You’ll be sent an email with an activation link and a temporary password. Click the link and follow the on-screen instructions. We suggest you check the box that indicates you wish to receive announcements from us via email. While we will send you emails re your account anyway (e.g. general admin communications, if you request a new password, that sort of thing), we will not send you emails about new features if you leave this box unchecked.

Adding an Avatar

Once you’ve successfully signed up and activated your account you can ask us to add your avatar (up to 80x80 pixels). You just click on the existing avatar image to create an email addressed to us, attach your image and we'll upload it to AlexSuze for you.

It will not appear immediately. To avoid robots and the like uploading rubbish we have to approve it, you’ll receive an email when that has been done.

From that point on any comments you make on the blog will appear with your avatar against them.

Privacy

The information entered by you in the belong section is very minimal at the moment. The only information that we would make public is your site’s URL (though you don’t have to register that against you “Belong” ID), your text (displayed when someone hovers on your image) and your “Nick Name”.

Your email will remain private and will only be used if we need to communicate with you regarding “Belong”.

The Future

We have lots of ideas about how “Belong” will be expanded over the next 12 months, so keep an eye out for announcements from us.
