{"id":2483,"date":"2009-02-18T20:54:18","date_gmt":"2009-02-18T20:54:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alexsuze.com\/?p=2483"},"modified":"2009-02-18T20:53:39","modified_gmt":"2009-02-18T20:53:39","slug":"thrusting-it-into-your-face","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alexsuze.com\/?p=2483","title":{"rendered":"Thrusting It Into Your Face"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"float: left; border: 0; margin: 5px;\" src=\"\/images\/sex-clinic-ad.jpg\" alt=\"Sex Clinic\" width=\"300\" height=\"275\" \/>Twickenham based Advanced Medical Institute (AMI) has been placing advertisements around London which as you can see from the add above feature the word &#8220;Sex&#8221; very prominently in larger lettering.<\/p>\n<p>The company gives consultations and treatment for men suffering from impotence and premature ejaculation, using its &#8220;nasal delivery technology&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The Advertising Standards Authority has upheld 522 complaints against AMI.  Other complaints were that the billboards were near to schools and areas where they would be seen by children.<\/p>\n<p>A spokeswoman for the ASA said &#8220;A number of complainants pointed out to us that the sheer size of the message made it impossible to avoid, which they found very uncomfortable.&#8221;  The advert has been removed whilst the case is investigated.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m inclined to agree, whilst I am quite openly sexual, you don&#8217;t go shoving it in people&#8217;s faces.  We all choose what to read here on the Internet, it&#8217;s not so when you are moving around your own city and these ads hit you in the face.<\/p>\n<p>We have a young nephew and I would hate to have to try and explain what they were all about to him.  There is a time and a place for children to be educated in such things and it should be a choice not thrust upon you by a sexual health clinic.<\/p>\n<p>I just realised that I made a couple of naughty faux pas in those last paragraphs.
