She was asking for “Andy”. One of the office’s number was called Andy and the girls in the office directed her to him. One of them quipped that his “Christmas present has arrived”. After a few bewildered seconds where the WPC tried to engage the wrong Andy in conversation about an incident in the bar the previous evening she realised it wasn’t Andy the pub’s landlord.<\/p>\n
It struck me that this must happen a lot to police officers at Christmas. When the alcohol is flowing and the inhibitions are low they must get propositioned quite a lot when they have to enter bars, pubs and clubs to conduct their duties.<\/p>\n
Revellers should be warned though. Very soon police officers will be armed with Tasers so if you cop a drunken feel you might end up twitching on the floor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
