Americans calling a phone number to request duck hunting permits are being greeted by birds of a different kind. They are getting through to “Intimate Connections” a phone sex line because of a printing error.

The Fish and Wildlife Service which administers the program has printed out 3.5 million incorrect cards giving the wrong number. They should have listed 1-800-782-6724, but it lists 1-800-872-6724. The first number spells out 1-800-STAMP24, the second 1-800-TRAMP24. 🙂

Given that it would cost $300,000 to reprint them spokeswoman Rachel Levin said that they didn’t think it would be worthwhile reprinting them because that is a lot of money they can use for wildlife conservation.

Personally I would rather that the callers get through to the chat lines as $1.99 per minute than shoot the ducks. 🙁
