A round of applause please for the publicists who encouraged Britney Spears to sing the song “If You Seek Amy”. I wish I’d cum up with that piece of coded controversy.

I really do want Britney to make a go of it and rebuild some sort of career, but is this the right way? In some ways I can’t bring myself to be bothered as it’s rather funny, but part of me thinks it’s a bit desperate and the popular press can smell desperation a mile off.
