Enticing Her With Your Meat

Edita BenteThe Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Germany have recently published a study in which they claim male chimpanzees exchange meat from their hunting expeditions for sex.

This sparked of a short conversation in the office in which one member of staff said, “I wish my girlfriend was that easy to get into bed … hang on though, I did once get her to have sex in exchange for a pizza, and I got to eat half the pizza.”

Avoiding the obvious jokes about “Meat Feast” I managed to cover up my astonishment by saying that I’d only ever had to offer one type of meat to get a girl into bed.

I couldn’t believe that anyone would say what he’d said. Firstly that he was desperate enough to resort to bribery to get his girl into bed, and just as amazed that she had gone for it for a pizza. The trains of thought this opens up are legion.

Does he not romance and entice her into the sack? Is she not that bothered about sex, highlighting a disparity in their sexual appetites? Is she not that turned on by him?

I could go on, but I’m sure you can draw your own conclusions about the relationship. I for one am thankful that I’ve never been in his position.

When you begin a relationship you take her out, splash the cash a bit and try to get you and her in a mood receptive for a relationship, sex and maybe love. The spending of money is a means to an end, that of setting the mood, not a direct payment for sexual favours. You surely want to show yourself in the best light and the efforts you go to are to this end. Outlining a direct exchange of your entertaining expenses for her compliance to fulfil your sexual needs shouldn’t come into it.

I don’t think I’m being naïve or old-fashioned her when I say that women have sex drives and if that drive doesn’t mean they want to have sex with you then perhaps you aren’t right for each other.
