Over Exposure

We ventured out today to our favourite country pub with little nephew and his parents for a Birthday treat.  When we left home there was a light scattering of snow from the previous nights fall but as we got further out in to the wilds it started to snow, not heavily so we decided to continue on our journey.

It was 12pm when we left and we made it to the pub on time to enjoy a delicious pub lunch and a pint of beer.  It was our first turkey dinner and it went down a treat.  Whilst we were there the snow started to fall again but nothing much so we finished our Christmas pudding and then made our way to the car.

And how climatic changes can catch you unaware.  Within a few miles of the pub the snow started to fall more heavily and was creating hazardous driving conditions.  We braced ourselves as we drove in to the heart of the snow.

I must admit at several points in our journey I thought we may not make it and have to abandon the car and walk but Alex rose to the challenge and got us all safely back home.

Finally we got back at 4.30pm after a nightmare journey and as I look out of the window watching the snow continue to fall I can’t help thinking how glad I am that I now work from home.

As for Alex he may not be able to get in to work tomorrow…that will be a shame.  😉
