5 Years

The Twin Towers

5 years
5 centuries
5 millenia
The passage of time will not erase their memories
And because we remember those who died on that day
And all who fell before and since, named and nameless
There is a chance the killing will stop

  1. Hard to believe that it has been five years – a day that changed all our lives and those lost that day will forever be remembered and honoured.

    Great tribute.

  2. I too cannot be optimistic about the future. This has been going on for hundreds of years and the religious aspect will only keep the flames fanned in the foreseeable future.

  3. I remember the day it happened, like my father says he remembers the day JFK was killed, or my grandfather remembers the day we declared war (WWII). With WWII my grandfather saw it coming, building during the 30’s, but with JFK and 911 they slice through our history. Before the world was one thing and after the world was another, no going back, a paradigm shift.

  4. I recently took a drive into Brooklyn, and not seeing those two towers, was a stark reminder…The Skyline was still as Beautiful, but the emptiness was all too clear, brutal, shocking, once again. The photograph you’ve placed here, is absolutely beautiful….it is forever (or, in a way, makes it so.)

    Thank you, Alex & Suze.

It is a wonderful tribute, and the last lines are everyone’s hope I think. Fear not…never forget.

    xx,adam.
