The Cum Shot Compilations

I’ve watched a lot of porn, both for pleasure and professionally. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen people, total strangers, engaged in sex on screen. What I can say is that in the majority of the adult movies I’ve watched you get to see the guy cum. Usually on the girl’s face and if not somewhere else on her body.

I know why directors do it and I know why consumers of porn want to see it but what I can’t get into my head is why a huge number of DVDs feature a “Cum shot recap” as a DVD extra.  OK so maybe you get off on seeing a guy cum, imagining it’s you there squirting your jism all over the beautiful girl’s face or tits, but I like the build-up to that. Just seeing the white gloop fly through the air is over a bit too quick for me.

I suppose it’s far more difficult to put together a “best bits” compilation of the stuff I like to see, the vigorous fucking, bodies writhing in ecstasy, enthusiastic cunnilingus, but I’m sure there must be other people out there who like those bits too.

When I was a kid you used to be able to get 8mm and 16mm film, yes I said film as in projector and big screen on a stand at the end of the room, of films like Star Wars. They were abridged to fit on one reel so were effectively condensed versions of the film. With some porn movies featuring hours of run time these days in an effort one assumes to compete with VoD the option to run an abridged version with just the best bits might be something producers could think about? I suppose the problem is that another edit means more production costs.
