Kinky Police Woman
I watched television with trepidation on Saturday evening as the first episode of Dr Who featuring Matt Smith was screened. As I watched the titles role I told myself not to be judgemental and watch the full episode before making any decisions about it.
The idea of Matt taking over the role as the doctor filled me with trepidation. I got in to the programme quite late on, in fact it was Chris Ecclestone who first turned me on to watching the long running sci-fi adventure. Up until that point the unconvincing rubber suited monsters and charisma lacking doctors hadn’t persuaded me to tune in.
Chris broke the mould, he was quirky, strangely attractive in a way I haven’t fathomed out to this day and loveable. I was disappointed when he walked away from the role and they appointed David Tennant who I thought would never match up. And I was pleasantly proved wrong, he made an excellent doctor.
So this time round I didn’t want my first impressions of the “young” doctor to taint my opinion, knowing that I had been wrong with the previous one. Even now I’m still trying to decide if I like him or not, he’s certainly not a looker, rather too young and immature for the role. But I’m still giving him the benefit of the doubt and will have a better idea when I have watched the second episode next Saturday.
Meanwhile his 5’10” leggy assistant Karen Gillan who plays Amy Pond seems to have been a big hit with the guys. I wonder why…that’s her at the top of this post. 😉
